What happens when a community refuses to settle for dusty, muddy and forgotten roads?
In Immaculate area of Zimmerman Ward, the answer is people power.
For years the road was ignored despite residents pleading with elected leaders.
But instead of waiting for miracles, we came together. My team provided facilitation and our neighbours offered subsidised labour.
This was not politics or campaign gimmicks. It was ordinary wananchi claiming their dignity. Today the once abandoned path is a real road built by the people for the people.
Our People Speak: Pure Positivity
Real leadership is best judged by the voices of those it serves. Here is what your neighbours are saying:
Lincoln W: “U did a nice job…Watu wanefurahia sana”
Silas Kibet: “This is the Only Leader who understands the language and Problems facing Roysambu People James Munene Thuku you deserve to lead come 2027.Umeonyesha Uongozi si Kutenga ni Kutenda.TuKo One Tuko True.Together We Can Do More. Roysambu Ni Home”
Chege Peter: “From what am hearing from the ground,it has been summarised this way.words cannot be enough.Vile umetutendea,na sisi 2027 tutalipiza kisasi.”
”.
Irene Wanjiku: “We are very proud of you Mheshimiwa James Munene you have made Zimmerman your business”.
Nancy Ngugi: “Kiongozi wa ukweli i like the way you are supporting our community good job hapo tumeitana mara mingi hatujawai pata wa kutuiitika”

Mwangi Kamau: “Leadership of transformation and working together with our people.Community development is the clarion call.Tuko One, Tuko True”Terry Muiruri: “Roysambu deserves a leader like James Munene who understands the community’s problems”.
These quotes are not cherry‑picked from a script. They are raw testimonies from boda boda riders, traders, elders and youth who feel the impact of practical leadership every day.
Beyond One Road: A Growing Record of Action
The Immaculate Road is just the beginning. Team James Munene Thuku has been on the ground delivering tangible results even without holding public office:
- Building access roads in Marururi, Zimmerman and other neighbourhoods so that families and businesses move with ease.
- Constructing the Githurai–Soweto bridge, turning a dangerous crossing into a safe link for pupils, parents and boda boda riders.
- Setting up boda boda shades across the constituency so riders can wait for passengers without rain or scorching sun.
- Facilitating health facility upgrades like providing washing machines, wheelchairs and chairs for Marurui Health Centre after community health promoters sought help.
- Engaging with elders, as captured in our transformation journey where wazee wa Mabatini commended our work and dedication to the community.
All this has happened while we are still private citizens. Uongozi ni vitendo, si maneno — leadership is action, not empty promises.
Viral Energy: Why This Story Matters Now
Residents are tired of being used as voting machines. They want real change and they are willing to back it up with sweat and support. When your community floods your comments with encouragement and blessings, you know you are on the right path.
What makes the Immaculate Road project go viral is not just the finished road; it is the spirit behind it:
- People first: Every decision starts with wananchi — from mamas to youth groups, elders and business owners.
- Collaboration, not politics: We partner with residents, churches and local associations to get work done without waiting for government handouts.
- Positive storytelling: Instead of complaining, we amplify success stories and highlight solutions. This attracts more volunteers and supporters.
- Our Hashtags that unite: #JamesMuneneThukuRoysambuMP2027, #RoysambuNiHome, #TogetherWeCanDoMore, #TukoOneTukoTrue, #ImmaculateRoad, #KaziKwanza – these are not trends; they are rallying cries.
The Vision: From Village Mentality to City Status
Some ask if I am already the elected leader. The answer is no; I have never held an elective position. We do this because we believe in Roysambu’s potential and Community Development is our language.
Our plan is bigger than one road or one bridge. We see a modern, organised and thriving Roysambu with smooth roads, vibrant markets, quality schools, reliable health services and safe spaces for youth to innovate and play.
It is a journey that will take all of us. The good news is that residents are ready. As more comments keep pouring in praising our work and pledging support, it becomes clear that Roysambu is not waiting for change , it is creating it.
